Drafter / Designer - Solidworks/Medical

What do we need?

We are looking for a Solidworks Drafter to assist in the design and documentation of new and existing physical designs to facilitate manufacturing and regulatory compliance.

What is involved?

  • Produce 2D drawing for production and compliance documentation using SolidWorks.
  • Be an advocate for high quality drawings and models.
  • Complete/document engineering changes, changes to design of parts, revising drawings and bill of materials to maintain updated drawings according to drafting procedures.
  • Facilitate drawing administrative duties, CAD content management, and document control.
  • Create technical product drawings per ASME/ANSI/IEC/ISO and company standards.
  • Support design and build of test fixtures as needed.
  • Create high quality 3D SolidWorks models from conception while following prescribed design standards and requirements from prototype through production.
  • Knowledge of product designs and functions to actively engage in new product development and sustaining engineering projects
  • Identify or create solutions for technical problems using systematic problem-solving and statistical methodologies.
  • Support product complaint investigations and root cause determination.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of product, engineering, and management plans and reports (e.g., program and project plans) as required.
  • Assist in updates to system specifications, designs, test descriptions, hazard analysis, validation test procedures, and related documentation as needed.
  • Contribute to development of Standards and Processes for the Global team

What do we need from you?

  • Associate’s degree in a design-related field or CAD certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in CAD design.
  • Experience with GD&T strongly preferred.
  • Experience releasing drawings into a design control process.
  • Experience with medical electrical device development preferable.
  • Experience working in an agile development model with electronics and software teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Self-starter: motivated, ability to prioritize workload, and capable of working with limited direction. Inspired to make an impact every day.
