Software Development Engineer - Medical, C++, Linux

Micro C Imaging is a dynamic medical technology start up that is revolutionizing medical imaging with its digital X-ray and multi-modal camera.  Invented by an experienced orthopedic surgeon, The Micro C™ is a groundbreaking medical imaging solution designed for surgeons and physicians treating disorders of the extremities that combines a compact, handheld X-ray and digital camera. 

What do we need?

We are looking for a C++ Developer that will be the single point of contact for the software solutions involved in our medical X-ray imaging and other hardware products.

What is involved?

Development Tasks:

  • Performs system level integration tasks based on requirements
  • Develops necessary C++ modules to support system integration
  • Collaborates with hardware team members for harmonizing tasks for streamlined development
  • Develops detailed design documentation for implementations
  • Implements appropriate unit, integration tests and mock frameworks to ensure stability and conformance to requirements
  • Creation and oversight of technical documentation

Leadership Tasks:

  • Develops detailed design documentation for implementations
  • Primary architect for component level features
  • Provides system level architecture review, consulting, and oversight on source code and tool selection and configuration
  • Performs code reviews utilizing pull requests, workflow tools, and static analysis
  • Guides and monitors the progress of onshore and offshore resources via online collaboration tools and daily stand-up meetings
  • Sprint planning, backlog grooming and task estimation

What do we need from you?

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field required
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Required experience: C++, OpenCV, Linux, continuous integration, dependency injection, automated unit testing, subsystem mock, disciplined software documentation, software design documents, fault analysis, software test protocols
  • Experience with IoT product development is a plus!
  • Bonus: Medical imaging, microcontrollers (ST), hardware-software integration, x-ray physics
  • Bonus: Real time operating systems including management of processes/threads, inter-process communication, semaphores/mutexes, interrupt service routines is a plus
  • Bonus: Medical hardware development, java and general understanding of video and image processing
  • Compliance experience (62304/14972) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to excel in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
