Software Engineer in Test, Medical

What do we need?

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test who will work with our team to develop software solutions for medical X-ray imaging and other hardware products. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and flexible with excellent engineering, communication and reasoning skills.


What is involved?

Documentation Tasks:

  • Generates and provides oversight of technical software documentation
  • Develops test protocols and software verification and validation plan
  • Develops detailed system and software requirements documentation
  • Develops detailed design documentation for implementations
  • Participates in code reviews utilizing pull requests, workflow tools, and static analysis


Design/Development Tasks:

  • Design automated unit and integration tests
  • Perform manual integration and system testins
  • Digests existing code base and software/hardware ecosystem
  • Sprint planning, backlog grooming and task estimation
  • Develops and performs verification and validation of system and software
  • Supports development of C++ modules for system integration
  • Hardware support for software development and testing
  • Collaborates with team members to harmonize and streamline development


What do we need from you?

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field required
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Required experience: C++, Linux, automated unit testing, software verification and validation
  • Experience with detailed, disciplined software documentation (including proper code commenting, software requirements, software design documents, fault analysis, software test protocols) is a must
  • Bonus: Hardware-software integration, Java, OpenCV, subsystem mocks, continuous integration, configuration management, embedded systems, medical imaging, x-ray physics
  • Experience in a highly-regulated industry is a plus
  • Exposure to Java, medical hardware and/or software design would be a plus.
  • Compliance experience (IEC/ISO 62304/14972/60601) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to excel in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
